Our Guarantee

Unless otherwise indicated, all Second City Prime Steak & Seafood Company products come vacuum sealed and frozen and are guaranteed in your freezer (at 0°F) from 9 months to one year, depending on the product. 

In order to ensure that your product maintains our high standards of quality, be sure to follow these instructions:

Upon Delivery of a Shipped Purchased: Your Second City Prime Steak & Seafood Company product will arrive frozen in a container with dry ice or gel pack (often dissipated by the time the package is opened). It is normal for the dry ice to dissipate during transit. Your products will still remain frozen or partially frozen. Put your products in the freezer immediately upon receipt if not intending to use the same day. Do not let any remaining dry ice come in contact with your skin. Use gloves or oven mitts to remove the dry ice--or let it dissipate in the container.

If your product is a Second City Prime "never-frozen" roast, be sure to refrigerate and use within 48 hours, or place immediately in your freezer.

Second City Prime Steak & Seafood Free Chicago-Area Delivery: If you have opted for Chicago-area free delivery your product will be delivered personally by a verified courier service and will be either frozen or partially frozen. Upon receipt of your delivery, please be sure to place your products in a freezer or refrigerator immediately. If you purchase a "never-frozen" roast or refrigerated product, be sure to use it within 48 hours, or freeze immediately.


Up to 6 months: veal chops, pork chops, stuffed chicken breasts, chicken wings, lobster tails, fish, all-beef hotdogs.

Up to 9 months: stuffed beef, lamb chops, lamb roasts, rack of lamb, pork ribs, baby back ribs, bison, chicken breasts.

Up to12 months: all Second City Prime beef steaks, beef roasts, beef tenderloins, beef tenderloin tips and tails, beef medallions and filets, sirloin strips, beef ribs, whole turkey, turkey breasts, bacon, ham.
